I LOVE toys!

Mom realizes that a recent "fussy" stage had nothing to do with colic- but rather with having only baby toys in the home for a just about to be toddler. Look how much happier I am now! Thanks everyone for teaching mom a good lesson!

Look! I am about to get new teeth up top!

Bien guapos!

Happy Birthday Simon Paul

Simon Paul is one!
We had a fun family party with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Simon poses with Grandmommy in his birthday suit.
He loved her guacamole!

Gwy and Aunt Anna came from NYC to help Simon celebrate!
Uncle Dan visited too!

Pat and Simon feasting.

Look at the Duck Cake!
And Duck Cupcakes!

He was a little shocked when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday."

One year raced by so quickly!
We could not be happier with our big boy!

Adventure Saturday

We like to take adventures on Saturdays. Today we went downtown to the Air and Space Museum. We saw a lot of really neat things. Pat loved the planes. Because the American History Museum in under renovation, they have a special exhibit in the Air and Space Museum. We saw the original Kermit the Frog and Dorothy's ruby slippers.
We also rode on a carousel!!! Nate enjoyed the stroller rides. Thanks for the adventure, Mike.

The Piano

When Mike came home he found Pat at the piano composing one of his pieces. Here he is teaching him how it goes.

Pat loves and I mean LOVES the piano. Every moment he gets he tickles the ivories.

Simon Paul is almost one!

What am I up to these days?

I crawl.
I walk.

I try to be just like my Dad.

I crawl into my own stroller and say, "Let's go Mom!"
I get into stuff.

And more stuff.
I stick my tongue out at authority!
(I am getting into the trashcan)
I draw my own bath.

Too cold!

Too cute!

Is everyone OK?

Thank you yes, we are all ok, the rain is here and we expect some more.
precautions have been taken, learning from our experience with hurricane mitch 9 years ago. so, people have taken action, including nelson dad and nelson son, which are now moving machinery and some other things form a storage they have in a zone that is high risk because there is a river nearby. but please pray so the hurricane passes quickly and keeps getting weaker.
we heard the great news about tommy and caki and we join in celebration!!!
lots of love to all,
sara

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Congratulations! You are our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. May we learn to live with the grace a poise that you have taught us. Have a wonderful day. Lots of love form all the Royals.

We saw James today!

We captured this smile during Plebe Parent Weekend on August 11, 2007
His smile has faded a little. The brigade is back, the academic year has begun and they have cancelled his first liberty. He is beginning to feel a little of the grind, grind, grind.

Margaret was sure glad to see James! She lifted his spirits.

James returns to do what he's got to do. Exams, academic prep and whenever there's an extra 10 minutes he reads Harry Potter. He sends his love to all, wishes he could hear from everyone.

He is looking great! Bearing up well and his spirits are up!
