Archbishop Wuerl confirmed John Paul Royals tonight at Our Lady of Lourdes in Bethesda. John Paul took the name "Michael" after Saint Michael the Archangel, Prince of the Heavenly Hosts. His proud eldest brother stood behind him as his sponsor.
Way to go, John!
John Paul's confirmation also means that all of Mom and Dad's children have been fully initiated into the Catholic Faith. Congrats to them, too!

Reality: Day 9

Thomas Jr. has been home for 2 whole days!!

He surprised us again on Friday when he was released from the Intensive Care Nursery 2 days ahead of schedule. Needless to say, we were thrilled and caught off guard all over again. We had even asked on Thursday if he'd be released on Friday and they had said no.

It has been awesome to have Thomas Jr. home safe and sound. He is healthy and continues to eat well and get stronger.

Caky is also doing very well as she continues to rest and recover. She has called Thomas an alarm clock because twenty minutes before each feeding, day and night, he begins to ask politely for his scheduled meal.

He cries only at changings and before some feedings, if then. Beyond that, he is as content as can be. Grandma "Nana" Carol Ann Corcoran has called him as "a very well mannered young man." "Nana" has been with us since his birth. The changing of the guard will occur this Tuesday when my mother "Grandmommy" Ceci Royals will come down.

We gave him a little bath last night and he had a fit. The aftermath of that bath is captured in his open eyes of the two pictures above.

Baby Thomas is getting better everyday.

Thomas Joseph continues to get stronger and more active every day. He is a joy to be with. He says "hello". Then he broke into song: "Hail to the Redskins..." We are so proud. We expect him to continue to improve and strengthen daily and expect to bring him home shortly. Thanks for the continued prayers and support.

Here he is. We are so proud of him. He is a beautiful and strong baby boy.

Caky was released this morning and she is doing magnificently. We have begun making scheduled trips to and from the hospital to see our son. He is doing very well and we expect him to come home in the next few days.

For those concerned, he is wearing Redskins socks. Proof of that to follow.

The little baby boy arrived 4 weeks early last night weighing in at 5lb 11oz. Tom(Sr.), Caky and baby are so happy and doing very well. More details and hopefully pictures to follow!

Yesterday Dariush, Anahita and Ariana presented their tests for their next belts. To our surprise one of the 4 judges was the Head Coach of the Korean National Olympic Team. Results were posted today and they all passed!
